After a year-long break, Mae Krell is back with a new single about cultivation, growth, and the process of it all. “Garden,” available today, is a sweet and delicate piece of music, pairing Krell’s inward lyrics with simple instrumentation. 

A refrain repeats “the sun won’t shine forever,” as Krell reflects on their personal journey of growth and the limitations of a bitter environment that restricts movement upward. The song is a meditation on one’s ability to move beyond that kind of bitterness, and the hope that comes with time and learning to trust yourself and your own intentions.

“I don’t want to be portrayed as too put together,” says Krell. “I’m still working on myself. I’m constantly changing and growing and falling apart and coming back together.”
